Newsies tour alum Stephanie Styles and more have been tapped for the previously announced Kingdom Come off-Broadway. Directed by Kip Fagan and penned by Jenny Rachel Weiner, the world premiere will play a limited engagement October 7 through December 18. Opening night is set for November 2 at Roundabout Underground’s Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.
Along with Styles as Suz, the cast will feature Brooke Bloom (Cloud Nine) as Layne, Carmen M. Herlihy (Doctor Faustus) as Samantha Carlin, Alex Hernandez (Peter and the Starcatcher) as Dominick Aquendo and Socorro Santiago (The Bacchae) as Delores Aquendo.
Samantha is lonely and confined to her bed. Layne is shy and too afraid of the world to journey into it. When both women decide that online dating might be the outlet they need, they venture into the wilds of the Internet and find deep connection in each other. The only problem: they’re each pretending to be someone else. What happens when the feelings are real but the people are not?
The production will feature sets by Arnulfo Maldonado, costumes by Tilly Grimes, lighting by Thom Weaver, sound by Daniel Perelstein and projections by Darrel Maloney.
